To the Editor: Overbuilding and accidents

To the Editor,

This is becoming a very serious matter. The tow is continuing to grant permits to these contractors putting up housing units at a massive scale. All this even when our antiquated septic system is at a point of maximum.

What happens if it fails? Water is becoming a serious problem with a couple of our wells down and the town has to buy water. And if the select board hints at not giving these developers their way, they threaten to bring in the state and cry affordable housing let's them put up the hundreds of units. To us that travel these roads, it's as plain as the nose on our faces. Too much! Just getting to be too overcrowded.

And even worse is the safety issue. Just recently three people were killed in accidents. Their families suffering the greif that these conditions bring forth. And they're talking about a bicycle path through the town? Are they thinking? How safe will these cyclists be? Just too much traffic. Maybe cooler thinking minds will prevail and the town will slow down, but I don't count on it.
