The first-ever Padanaram Chamber Music Festival will kick off on August 9 with an opening night concert at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Elm Street in Padanaram Village from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

An evening of classical masterpieces will be followed by a catered reception and meet-and-greet with the musicians.

On August 10, the music festival will play another evening of classics paired with modern selections starting at 7 p.m. at the Art Scapes Gallery in New Bedford, with light refreshments provided.

The musicians will return to Padanaram on Sunday, August 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. for an evening of music and arts hosted by the Dartmouth Cultural Center at the Olde Southworth Library on Elm Street.

The festival will draw to a close on August 16 and 17 with two final concerts at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

On Friday, August 16 the festival will explore American Chamber Music written by US composers over the last hundred years, including Barber, Jalbert, Beach, and Bernstein. 

The final concert of the series, on Saturday, August 17 is focused around Dvorak’s vibrant piano quintet and will include a reception after the music.
