Zoning Board approves new gas station on Faunce Corner Road
The proposed gas station, convenience store and drive thru on 411 Faunce Corner Road was approved by the Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday, Dec. 4, allowing the petitioners to move on to the next stage of the building process.
Petitioner Anthony Mollica had applied for a use variance to turn the lot into a combined use gas station, convenience store and drive through that would serve food and coffee.
Some common concerns raised were the traffic the project would generate, but Mollica argued that the trips are already there and that the gas station would actually prevent people from traveling for gas.
He stated that the traffic study conducted found the station would add a maximum of one vehicle trip per minute during rush hour. He also stated that the gas station would not raise any sound or light issues for the neighbors.
The Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved the petition, stating it is a needed combination in the office-industrial direct.
