10 new bricks laid in honor of veterans
Ten new bricks honoring Dartmouth veterans have been added to Memorial Grove, which was installed in 2018 at the Dartmouth Council on Aging to recognize the town’s veterans.
All 10 bricks are in honor of 10 veterans who are from the same family.
With the addition of these 10 bricks, there are now 275 engraved stones placed around a gazebo in the middle of the grove. '
The bricks are organized based on which war the veteran being honored fought in, with each section marked by engraved benches.
Memorial Grove was built largely with funds donated from over a dozen community businesses, said Matthew Brouillette, the town’s veteran service officer.
Funds from the brick laying project go toward supporting the town’s veterans advisory board, building monuments and general upkeep.
